Assessment and Examination Scheme

SPARSH SEGMENT - NURSERY, L.K.G., AND U.K.G.

Students will be assessed on the basis of day-to-day performance. No formal examination or tests will be conducted for them.

JIGYASA SEGMENT - CLASSES I & II

• The syllabus in all subjects will be divided into two Terms.
• Students of Class I-II will be assessed on the basis of the Test Worksheet Cycles / Periodic Tests and Term End Examination.
• Periodic tests will be held in all the subjects according to the schedule given in the almanac.
• Satisfactory explanation for absence has to be given, failing which a student will be marked zero in that test. Evaluation will be based on student’s continuous academic performance during the year.

The five-point grading scale for scholastics is as follows:

JIGYASA SEGMENT - CLASSES III-V

A. Scholastic Areas:

• The school follows the evaluation scheme suggested by CBSE. The scholastic areas will be assessed through four Periodic Tests and two examinations i.e. Half Yearly and Annual.
• Periodic tests will be held for all classes, in all the subjects according to the schedule given in the almanac.
• Satisfactory explanation for absence has to be given, failing which a student will be marked zero in that test.
• The academic year is divided into two terms:
  • First Term – Periodic Test 1 & 2 (including Subject Enrichment Activities) + Half Yearly Examination
  • Second Term – Periodic Tests 3 & 4 (including Subject Enrichment Activities) + Annual Examination
• The syllabus in all subjects will be divided into two independent Terms.

1.The Half Yearly and Annual Exam for each subject will be of 80 marks and 3 hours duration

Co-Scholastic Areas:

Focusing on holistic development of students, areas including Art Education, Health & Physical Education and Work Education will be assessed at the end of the Term on a Three-point Grading scale (A- Outstanding, B-Very Good and C- Fair).

Discipline

The students will be assessed for the discipline based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour values, tidiness, respectfulness and attitude towards society/nation and others on a Three-point Grading scale (A- Outstanding, B-Very Good and C- Fair).

MANTHAN - CLASSES VI-VIII

Assessment scheme for classes VI-VIII is as per CBSE guidelines. The academic year is divided into two terms including Term-I and Term-II.

Scholastic Areas:

• A. Assessment Scheme:
• Term-I includes Periodic Tests 1 & 2, Internal Assessment and Half Yearly Examination.
• Term-II includes Periodic Tests 3 & 4, Internal Assessment and Annual Examination.
• Half Yearly and Annual Exam: Each exam is of 80 marks and 3 hours duration.

The Half Yearly and Annual examination for each subject will be of 80 marks and duration 3 hours.

• Multiple Assessment - 5 Marks
• Portfolio - 5 Marks
• Subject Enrichment Activities - 5 Marks

LAKSHYA - CLASSES XI & XII

Class XI:

• Weekly Tests (4 Cycles): 20%
• Half Yearly Examination: 30%
• Annual Examination: 50%

Students must score > 33% in theory and practical separately for each subject, as well as in aggregate to qualify for promotion to the next class.

Scheme of Cycle Tests/Monthly Tests/Revision Tests and Pre-annual and Annual examination for Class XI will be notified later.

Class XII:Assessment will be done as per CBSE guidelines through Unit tests, Term Exams, Test series, and Pre-board examination.
